Difficult to separate his work from that of H.H.
Halsey or the partnership of Halsey & Coffin.
Active as Harmon & Coffin at Snelling 66 or 67;
by spring 67 was involved with J.C. Scripture in
Dutch Flat; they also started a San Francisco
establishment, but Scripture left, leaving him
responsible for their debts. Returned to Dutch
Flat where he ran the Dutch Flat Photography
gallery; also operated local waterworks; during
70s, worked in partnership with Halsey, although
he also exchanged negs. with J.M. Jacobs in
Dutch Flat, 70s and rented his studio to several
different photogs. including Jacobs, R.C. Branin
and others; sold some mining negs to C.L. Pond.
Kept diary 70-86, which is source of much info.
Also worked with Jacobs and Halsey in
