Dates:  1931 - 2015, 20 June
Born:  US, NY, Coney Island
Active:  US
Website:  www.haroldfeinstein.com/

American photographer highly regarded for his detailed color images of flowers and foliage taken from 2000 onwards. His earlier black and white work taken between 1946 and 2000, including the work published in LIFE magazine, is now receiving more attention and two books are in development. One of these books will be on his Coney Island series and the other is on that most subtle of emotions - love.

He also did the design layouts for one of the most important documentary projects of all time - The Pittsburgh Project of W. Eugene Smith.

Quotations

The wit and wisdom.

"On one hand you want to see your subject well. On the other hand, you want to be caught off guard to retain the spontaneity. If you know your subject too well you stop seeing it."
"When your mouth drops open, click the shutter."
