Accompanied French artist Horace Vernet and his nephew Charles Marie Bouton to on a voyage to Egypt, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria and Turkey with a camera supplied by Lerebours. He showed some of his daguerreotypes in Turkey on 13th February 1840 and on the 16th February he disembarked in Constantinople and took daguerreotypes of the city under snow.Preparing biographies
