A part of his collection on Australia is housed in the National Library of Australia.
On his return to the village of Colton, Staffordshire, England in 1891 he continued his interests in botany and arboriculture establishing gardens on the Colton House estate. He took photographs to record local life including the May Day festivities involving local children and this archive is housed with the Colton Historical SocietyPreparing biographies
