Dates: | 1929, 23 November - | Born: | US, GA, Savannah | Active: | US | Contemporary American print maker and photogravurist. Artist statement: I¹ve spent the better part of my life with printer¹s ink on my hands, first in the newspaper business in Georgia, Wyoming, California, and Hawaii; then in publications and print-related activities at the University of Hawaii and with a varied group of clients around the Hawaiian islands. I have been fortunate to work with and learn from some of Hawaii¹s best photographers and graphic designers and to put my own hand to the test in those fields as well.
Several years ago, I started to explore other ways of putting images on a page, a process that has serendipitously turned me into a printmaker. I learn new things about technique every day and still enjoy getting the ink on my hands. My works explore a variety of printing methods from dry point and screen printing to photogravure and chine collé.
