Subscriptions Originally from Drogheda, Ireland, Frances Murray emigrated to the United States in 1966, living in Rochester, NY. Murray moved to New York, NY in the early 1970s and then to Tucson in 1975. Her work has been featured in exhibitions all over the United States and abroad. She is the recipient of two National Endowment for the Arts awards, including the prestigious US/Japan Exchange Fellowship, which allowed her to spend six months photographing in Japan. Murray’s work is in several important public and private collections, including: the International Museum of Photography at the George Eastman House, Rochester, NY; the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, TX; the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, CA; the Museum of Photographic Art, Balboa Park, San Diego CA; Tucson Museum of Art, AZ; and the Center for Creative Photography at the University of Arizona, Tucson.
