… he was born in Bedford in 1865, the son of a Sergeant of Militia, Joseph Schrader, and his wife Ann. He was not a professional photographer, but a Gas Inspector for the Bedford Gas Company. He appears in Bedford Census returns for 1871, 1881, 1891, 1901, 1911 and 1921. He died a widower in Cambridge, in 1945, leaving two daughters, Ethel and Amy, and at least one granddaughter, Dorothy Amy Nutting.
