| Dates: | 1918, 16 September - 2014, 15 March | Born: | US, NY, Brooklyn | Active: | US | Graduated from the University of Minnesota (1941) and worked for photographer Barbara Morgan before joining the Roy Stryker at Standard Oil of New Jersey in 1945 and working there until 1946. Her work with Standard Oil is held in the Photographic Archives of the University of Louisville, Kentucky. After the Second World War she worked for Look magazine and this is in the Look Magazine Photograph Collection at the Library of Congress Prints & Photographs Division.
Warning:Take care not to confuse with Charlotte Park Brooks (1918-2010) who has 77 photographs for the FSA in the collection of the Library of Congress. As Beverly Brannon wrote "When I interviewed the Finkelstein one, she said the photo developing shops in NYC were always giving them the work for the other one." (Beverly W.
