Stereographs project Business locations Fox Lake, WI, US [8] "By..."; Single view seen on yellow/yellow
RM, pencil title on back "View of Fox Lake made
by Charles Curtis, 1881", prob. amateur. No
positive identification of location can be made
but there was a resort area at Fox Lake, WI in
the 80s-90s, and the scene looks like that area.
Unlikely that he was the C.S. Curtis of Argos,
IN who worked much later, or the Charles C.
Curtis of CA who worked as an itinerant photog. T.K. Treadwell & William C. Darrah (Compiled by), Wolfgang, Sell (Updated by), 11/28/2003, Photographers of the United States of America, (National Stereoscopic Association) |
