Took photographs at the South Kensington Museum from 1853 onwards and in 1856 he was appointed as their first official photographer. There are examples of his work in the V&A collection and The Royal Collection.

Charles Thurston Thompson was the first official photographer employed by the South Kensington Museum. He was appointed in 1856 but photographed at the Museum in 1853.
