He traveled to Venezula, Cuba (1856-58), Brazil and Argentina where he took the only Daguerreotype views that exist. In 1852 he had a studio at Calle Piedad 98, Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was well known in New York for his carte de visite in the 1860s and took one of the most popular photographs of John Wilkes Booth (1838–1865).Preparing biographies
