In 1937 he fled Nazi Germany and became one of foremost Hollywood glamor photographers with his work was widely used by the pictorial magazines of the 1940s and 50s that were devoted to illustrations of the stars and personalities of the time. In 1984 he was awarded an exhibition of Hollywood legends by the ‘Motion Picture Academy‘.
