He travelled in China (Shanghai), Laos, Cambodia and Tonkin (Vietnam). Became editor of the Revue indochinoise and wrote articles on Laos that he illustrated with his own photographs. La Pagode (Decoly) of Saigon published many of his photographs as portcards.
