|Dates: ||1833, 21 October - 1897, 10 December|
|Born: ||Sweden, Stockholm|
Experimented with taking aerial photographs using a rocket and filed a patent in 1896 for "An improved mode of obtaining photographic maps". He died in December 1896 and it was on 26 April 1897 that engineers at his research laboratory at Karlskoga demonstrated progress on the practicality of this approach. The surviving photographs in the Swedish National Archives were probably taken during ground trials rather than using a rocket.
