Names: | | Dates: | 1836 - 1912 | Active: | Algeria | Active 1875-1900 ? First at 9, rue de La Lyre, Algiers, and in 1876 he bought the studio of Claude Portier at 14, rue Bab-Azoun, Algiers. His last address was 26 rue Bab-Azoun. A large number of CDVs by C. Portier are signed by Alexandre Leroux and were still published as postcards until the 1950s and 60s (published by the French firm - Combier-CIM). He won the gold medal in Algiers in 1880 and was a member of the "Academie des Beaux-Arts d’Alger". Some of his postcards were printed as the series "Collection Prestige Presence".
