| A medical man from Mecca who was a physician, eye doctor and studied dentistry who experimented with photography. After meeting the Dutch Islamist Christiaan Snouck Hurgronje in Jedda he offered the use of his studio in Mecca. In the publications of Snouck Hurgronje including Bilder-Atlas zu Mekka (1888) the individual photographs are not credited but subsequent research on the calligraphic inscriptions has revealed that Abd al-Ghaffar took many of them.Preparing biographies
