Fraser as his managing partner. The studio operated until 1880 when Fraser sold the business to pursue his career as a painter.

Fraser started with Notman in Montreal, 60, as first head of the art dept. Fraser brought J. Bruce from Montreal as chief operator. Fraser was also Art Superintendent with the Centennial Photog. Co. of U.S. Fraser bought Notman's share ÷83, renamed studio as Fraser & Sons; left it for sons to operate and pursued career as painter.
