Two brothers Frederick Langenheim (1809-1879) and William Langenheim (1807-1874) who were prolific in their production of stereocards.

"American Stereoscopic Views", 58; started as
daguerreotypists 43; were pioneers who establ.
the American market for views; some pub. by
William Lloyd of Philadelphia, and sold by
Alexander Beckers, NY, ~55; made views both on
glass & paper, of U.S. & Europe; also put
imprint on imported ones. Earliest seen are of
France, with CR by F. Langenheim in 54. Sold
few photomechanically-reproduced views; source
unknown, prob. Germany. George F. Schreiber
worked for them but left and opened own studio
59-60. Wide range of U.S. topics, mainly
northeastern section. Frederick was B. Germany
09, came to U.S. 40, D. 79; was the first to
offer glass views, 54. William was B. Germany
07, came to U.S. 34; D. 74. William estab. The
American Stereoscopic Co. 58 to distribute their
views, located at 722 Chestnut St. For more
