Stereographs project Business locations Baltimore, MD, US [7-8] Sometimes seen as "The New Excelsior
Series", likely pub. by Chase of Baltimore; all
seen are pirated, but of good quality. Fancy
logo on both ends of the front of the card, with
identification of the grouping, such as "Central
Park, 1872", (from Anthony & Stacy negs.);
"Centennial Views, 1776", (from Centennial View
Co. negs.); "Beauties of California", (from
Reilly, Houseworth, & Muybridge negs.), etc.;
many were printed on back with name of outlet,
such as S. Hicks, NYC dealer in albums, frames,
views, etc., and Bartlett's Art Palace,
Baltimore. T.K. Treadwell & William C. Darrah (Compiled by), Wolfgang, Sell (Updated by), 11/28/2003, Photographers of the United States of America, (National Stereoscopic Association) |
