Stereographs project Business locations Newark, NY, US [9-0] "Nurserymen". Had made for them a scarce
[10 seen] but outstanding series of ~100
advertising views, very nicely tinted, of their
flowers, veggies, fruits, also office
operations, on dark gray curved mts. They had
some tie to C. W. Stuart & Co., Nurserymen, of
Newark, who used some of the same cards with
only the co. name changed. Views were almost
certainly taken by S.S. Richards of Newark, who
is identified as photographer for other
commercial agricultural view series in the area,
with the same format. T.K. Treadwell & William C. Darrah (Compiled by), Wolfgang, Sell (Updated by), 11/28/2003, Photographers of the United States of America, (National Stereoscopic Association) |
