Bradley & Rulofson arrived in Hawaii from San Francisco (February, 20, 1875) and took portraits of Hawaiian royalty and notables. In January 1877 there was an advertisement in the "Friend" for their "San Francisco Gallery".

Some of his negatives were printed by Wyland Stanley in the 1950s.

Bradley, William Herman Rulofson] "Published by..."; "Gallery of Photographic Art"; 429 Montgomery St.; important early & prolific photogs. & publishers; issued "Views of Geyser Springs", by Muybridge; "Illustrations of the Pacific Coast", Alaska, CA, NV, UT, OR; "Valley of the Yosemite"; "Central, Union and Southern Pacific R.R.s"; Modoc War and lava beds; coastal & mining scenes; Chinese and Indians; circus & oddity views, etc. They were both active daguerreans in CA during 50s; in 63 formed partnership, taking over the R.H. Vance portrait studio; became one of San Francisco's most prestigious galleries, lasting until about 89; advt. that they employed the most skillful artists and that they had the only elevator connected with a photo. gallery in the world.
