| Jul 14, 2006 | Dealers in Fine Photography | |
| | I'd like to thank the photography dealers Carl Mautz (Nevada City) and Paul Frecker (London) for allowing me to include their material. The result of this collaboration is starting to appear with enhancements to the carte de visite and cabinet card exhibitions. Where dealers have specific collections of material that is appropriate for exhibitions this can be very useful. Immediate examples of this are in the exhibitions mounted in the last few days on nineteenth century "Russian Types" showing occupational CDVs from the 1860s and another series on the Passion Play at Oberammergau (1890).

| Jul 10, 2006 | Paul Berg - The History of the Miniature Case | |
| | I've just made active a wonderful exhibition by Paul Berg on "The History of the Miniature Case" showing some previously published examples. Paul is an authority in this area and author of "Nineteenth Century Photographic Cases and Wall Frames" which has now gone into a second and much enlarged edition.

| Jul 1, 2006 | Exhibitions | |
| | We are currently in a phase of the rapid development of a wide range of exhibitions on diverse areas of the history. The number of exhibitions by a selected group of contemporary photographers has been greatly increased and thanks to the photographers and gallery owners who are participating in this. We are also revising and improving all the existing 19th century exhibitions as we go - here new images are being added as permission is given by collectors, dealers and institutions. If you have 19th century photographic advertising materials and ephemera from any part of the world we are always interested.
I've also loaded up two exhibitions on stereo images including many examples of images and the storage and display devices. A special thanks to Bryan and Page Ginns (www.stereographica.com) and Jeffrey Klaus (www.antiquephotographics.com) for supplying images for these.
Exhibitions at times will be loaded without introductions or bibliographies but these will be added in as we progress.

| Jun 18, 2006 | Exhibitions | |
| | I'm delighted to announce that I've just loaded another series of exhibitions. Highlights include:
- Preliminary exhibitions on Ambrotypes, Tintypes and Cyanotypes.
- Photomontage
- CDVs - extended to include storage types and displays.
- A Record of the Photographic Salon of 1895 (London) - An early portfolio of work associated with the Linked Ring Brotherhood in Great Britain.
- Introduction to 19th century photograph types - I'd welcome other examples so that we can create an online reference set.
- Dennis George Crow has provided examples from 19th century China. This has been included in the expanding 19th century regional studies series in which each region of the world is being covered.
- The 19th century material on India has been updated with examples from "The People of India" (1868-72) by Colonel Philip Meadows Taylor.
- The Twentieth century material has been updated with an exhibition on Ernst Haas and a small exhibition on "USSR in Construction"
- The work of Bill Jay who has been photographing major photographers, photo-historians and gallery owners is now starting to be included and this will be beneficial throughout the website.
- Mike Robinson and Irving Pobboravsky have kindly provided examples of their contemporary Daguerreotypes.
- Ten exhibitions by contemporary photographers have been included - this is an essential part of building the overall history so that we can trace back and see how styles have evolved. I'd like to thank all the photographers who have agreed to participate.
Many other exhibitions are being arranged on Daguerreotype and early photographic ephemera (from the outstanding collection of Matt Isenburg), calotypes, the complete set of plates from "The Pencil of Nature" by Fox Talbot, ambrotypes, stereocards, magic lanterns, the Lippmann process, a remarkable Turkish album and the 19th century Japanese material is being enhanced with material provided by Terry Bennett (Old Japan). There are many surprises in preparation including a large quantity of material that has never been published.
Thomas Weynants, who runs the excellent www.visual-media.be website, has also kindly agreed to help out with material and contacts for the magic lantern slide and stereo images exhibitions which are just being initiated.
I'd like to thanks Del Zogg for his kind support on the John Gutmann material and I'm delighted that with the kind assistance of the MFAH (Museum of Fine Arts, Houston) and the permission of CCP we will soon be making available a series of important images by this wonderful photographer. Where we can work together with Museums and collections we always do as this creates better educational resources.
Your ideas on exhibitions for all are most welcome so if you have an idea, or a collection you are willing to share, please let me know.

| Apr 25, 2006 | Autochrome exhibition up and running | |
| | Nadia Valla has done a fantastic job in curating an extensive exhibition on the Autochrome - the first commercial color process. This was greatly facilitated by the Institut Lumière (the Lumiere Institute), Musée Albert Kahn, Mark Jacobs, Alain Scheibli, Hugh Tifft, John Wood, Anne-Céline Fuchs (L'Illustration), Collection Wattinne, Philippe Jacquier and Philippe Grange. It is a wonderful example of well organized collaboration and to all of those involved we offer our sincere thanks.

| Apr 17, 2006 | Knowledge Enlarger release held | |
| | I've decided to hold the release of the Knowledge Enlarger while we are concentrating on the building of the key exhibition content. The underlying data on the expertise of individuals will still be collected but bringing the exhibitions online is the main priority at the moment.
