Where are we up to on Luminous-Lint? |
This will be a short note rather than a lengthy Newsletter...
A new index has just been added to Luminous-Lint so you can see the progress on the different Themes. This will give you a sense of the scale of the project and how far we've come over the last four years.
Progress index
This index will automatically update as topics are added and improved. This is useful for Subscribers as you can monitor topics you are interested in. Once logged in you can go from this index directly to each Theme and Fragment.
IMPORTANT: For institutional subscribers, universities and organisations with multiple users please pass this information along to those who will benefit from this new tool.
As always I welcome your suggestions and examples for topics that should be included.

Axel Bahnsen (1907, 21 May - 1978, 24 April) was born - US, NY, Auburn.
Barnabás Bosshart (1947, 21 May - ) was born - Switzerland, AR, Herisau. Swiss-born photographer active in Brazil.
Giacomo Brunelli (1977, 21 May - ) was born - Italy, Perugia. Italian contemporary photographer who has produced a remarkable series of black and white photographs of animals.
Agustí Centelles (1909, 21 May - 1985) was born - Spain, Valencia, El Grao. Spanish photojournalist who photographed through the turmoil of the 1930s and the Spanish Civil War where he photographed for the Republican Army.
František Fridrich (1829, 21 May - 1892, 23 March) was born - Melník (now Czech Republic). In 1856 he obtained a Daguerreotypist licence in Prague. From 1857-1860 he was in the USA and then returned to Prague where in 1862 he opened his own photographic studio. Business appears to have been good as he opened branch studios in Karlovy More...
Gladys (1950, 21 May - ) was born - Algeria, Oran.
H. Mortimer-Lamb (1872, 21 May - 1970, 15 October) was born - England, Surrey, Leatherhead.
Francis C.K. Wu (1911, 21 May - 1989) was born - China, Canton. Notable Hong Kong Pictorialist.
Solomon Nunes Carvalho (1815, 27 April - 1897, 21 May) died - US, NY, New York. American-born Jewish painter and photographer of Spanish-Portuguese descent. He accompanied the 1853-1854 expedition of the explorer John C. Frémont through the territories of Kansas, Colorado, and Utah searching for a railroad route to the Pacific.More... |
