Photograph of Rorke's Drift. There is a ruined building with the wooden rafters of the roof exposed. Just in front of the building there is a small obelisk surrounded by a low stone wall and there is a tree to the left. A river runs through the valley behind. The Battle of Rorke's Drift took place during the Anglo-Zulu War (1879). The British defended the small garrison against a large force of Zulu warriors.
