(Beverly Wilgus, 29 June 2021) This is a cyanotype photograph of Glenesk house, owned by the Todd family from the late 1860's certainly into the 1920's and maybe longer. The Todds owned several papermills in the local area including Springfield mill which was situated near the house. It came from an album "Sunlight and Darkroom" of photogrpahs made in the Summer of 1893 by a German art supply dealer, Wilhelm Kühn who lived in Edinburgh. The photograph was not labeled but with the magic of flickr it was identified by the great grandson of the man who was the gardener for this house.
