Eduard Meyer is most probably the Berlin portrait painter and lithographer who, according to Nagler's Künstlerlexikon, was active as a painter and lithographer until 1850. Many portrait painters switched to photography during this time and used this new medium for their work. Photographers who were originally painters often did sign their works, as is the case with this piece. Early and rare view of Copenhagen.
