| William Carrick Itinerant musicians with bears, Finland 1863 (ca) Albumen print 21.8 x 28.3 cm (image) The Royal Collection RCIN 2935057 LL/93201 Carrick was an Edinburgh-born photographer who devoted much of his career portraying members of Russia's lower classes. He was one of the first photographers to capture the Russian countryside and its people. In the early 1860s, he travelled as far as Finland, where this photograph was taken, and later along the 'Mother Volga'.
Possibly acquired by Edward VII when Prince of Wales
