Photograph of Major Brandling's wooden hut with a group of soldiers gathered outside. Soldiers stand to either side of the hut with one standing by the doorway holding a document and with a dog lying at his feet. A soldier sits on a chair to the right with his arm around a dog. They are wearing a mixture of military uniform and winter coats. Major Brandling served with the Royal Artillery during the Crimean War.
