| Susan Derges The River Taw (Leaf Fall) 1998 Dye-destruction and photogram print 66 x 24 ins (167.6 x 61 cm) Swann Galleries - New York Auction, October 25, 2016, #2426, Lot 289 LL/69086 Derges created the images in this series at night in Dartmoor, England. The other-worldly, mesmerizing images of the river's ripples and floating debris were made by placing large sheets of light-sensitive cibachrome paper in a box constructed with aluminum and submerging it in the River Taw. When she was ready to make an image, the top of the box was removed, a flash set off, and the sheet exposed.
