| Unidentified photographer Yaghan People 1922 Glass negative, scan Private collection of Wolfgang Wiggers LL/105925 (Wolfgang Wiggers, 3 November 2020) The Yaghan were one of the indigenous peoples of the Tierra del Fuego in South America.
Only few Yaghans survived the colonization by white settlers.
This is a scan of a glass negative which is obviously an early repro. I haven't seen this Yaghan photograph before in any of the ethnological publications, but a similar one with the same persons, but the two europeans sitting, has been published by Koppers and is labeled:
"Group of Yamana persons painted to celebrate the chiéjaus, ornamented with down headbands and holding ritual decorated wands; the two persons of European origin sitting in the first row in the left and right are Gusinde and Koppers, respectively"
