Curatorial description (Accessed: 29 March 2016)
This is from the same ‘Orientalist’ series as PH.278-1947. The photograph has three slightly curved lines in the upper right area. These were probably caused either during the coating of the glass negative with wet collodion (which contained light sensitive salts) or perhaps during washing or toning. The change of posture of the models between this photograph and PH.278-1947 is slight, but the position of the sun has already changed and the light and the shadows are quite different.
