¢ plate in oval mat, no case. A house is at the right, with a fence in front. To its left is another 2 story building, attached to it. It is my guess that this is a later addition. It does not have a sloped roof, as does the building to the right. There are outside stairs at the left, going up to the second story. On the right of its covered veranda, supported by columns (as is the upper story) stairs go up to the higher veranda of the house at right. Most tantalizing is the sign above the main entrance. We have struggled to decipher this. The best we can come up with so far is something like "VE__ROSUE." The "UE" at the end seems fairly clear, suggesting that the name is French, and so this could possibly be a Canadian. In any case, this left building is likely to be an inn. There is a horse stopped at the left.
