Photograph of the twin spires of Burgos Cathedral on the western front of the cathedral. The spires feature open filigree tracery decorations. In the centre, above the doorway, is the cathedral's rose window in a recessed pointed arch. The cathedral is framed by two high brick walls which appear on either side of the photograph.

The Cathedral of St Mary of Burgos is typical of the French Gothic style of architecture and was commissioned by King Ferdinand III (1199-1252) of Castile. Construction began during the 1220's and continued up until the 16th century.

Acquired by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert
