Photograph of three women from Kashmir. They are sitting on a cloth, with another large cloth draped behind them. All are wearing long embroidered dresses, veils and heavy jewellery. Spread on the ground around them are shoes, small bowls and a jug.
This is one of a series of photographs from a published volume documenting the tour the Prince of Wales, later King Edward VII, made of India in 1875-76. Included in the album are a group of photographs of local people.
Presented to Alexandra, Princess of Wales by her husband the Prince of Wales at Christmas 1876
