W.D. Jackson
Trade card for "W. D. Jackson - The Old Reliable Photographer"
1880-1900

Trade card
Private collection of Lawrence T. Jones III

LL/60620

On the reverse of this late 19th century photographer trade card from Texas the following poem was printed:
"I'd give the world," he sighing said,
 And closer drew his chair,
"'To know the thought that fills your head."
 She tossed her glowing hair.

"You would," she answered, "really now
 Your offer makes me laugh,
For I was thinking how I'd look
 In Jackson's photograph."

"You'd look, my dear," was his reply,
 "More charming by one-half
Than blessed angels from the sky,
 In Jackson's photograph."

"I can't accept the words you tell,
No, I'm not such a calf:
Though even ugly girls look well
 In Jackson's photograph."
