| Unidentified photographer Portrait of a woman within a cave looking out to sea n.d. Cabinet card Private collection of Jack and Beverly Wilgus LL/100141 This photograph has an unusual the cliché verre background.
(Beverly Wilgus, 18 May 2020) Cliché verre is French for "glass plate" and described a hand made negative. The lady is a real photograph and it seems most likely that the area around her was covered with an opaque material and the image was scratched into it. We would call this a photogram.
