Lieut. Peary's sledging trip with a Kodak across the Greenland ice cap resulted in his securing over 2000 superior negatives in a region hithertoo unexplored by the white man.

His pictures convey the first definite idea of the land of perpetual ice and its queer inhabitants. Lieut. Peary is very enthusiastic over his success, and is already planning a Kodak outfit for his next trip. In a recent letter he says:

"My pictures were all 'taken with a Kodak,' and I regard the Kodak as responsible for my having obtained a series of pictures which in quality and quantity exceed any that have been brought back from Greenland and the Smith Sound region.

"R. E. Peary, U. S. N."
