These uncommon front and back views of a group of Europeans dressed in "Chinese" costumes show the fascination with Asia and other foreign cultures popular in Europe towards the end of the 19th century. The man is in fuller costume, whereas the women wear German folk costumes with Chinese/Japanese accessories.
