The subject is a colorist or retoucher in the Bendann studio, Her image as originally photographed is shown against various backdrops— a feat of pre-Photoshop wizardry. The Bendann’s photographic career started in a Whitehurst daguerreotype studio. Their gallery continued into recent times.
