Inscription: "No. 161. Samuel George Morton M.D. Presented to ?? G.C. Stanland Wake Sept. 1895." Historical: Mortan was American physician and natural scientist. He is widely known for developing the "American School" of ethnography. A 20th-century view of Morton's work may be found in Stephen J.
