| Jules Itier A Man from Central Borneo [Possibly a Cannibal] 1845 Daguerreotype, 1/4 plate Wilson Center for Photography (WCP) LL/61610 The first daguerreotype or photograph taken in Borneo, c.1845. Itier also took the first photographs in China and some of the first in the Middle East. This image, a portrait of a young man from the central part of the island is published and documented and comes from the noted collector G. Gimon and bears his stamp.
