This photograph was taken during a Society outing to Hampton Court. Included, amongst others, are Roger Fenton (1819 - 1869), Francis Bedford (1816 - 1894), Benjamin Brecknell Turner (1815 - 1894) and Hugh Welch Diamond (1808 - 1886). The photographic van in the left background probably belongs to Roger Fenton. The Photographic Society was set up in 1853 for 'the promotion of the Art and Science of Photography, by the interchange of thought and experience amongst Photographers'.
