Photograph taken at Cairo showing officers serving in the Anglo-Egyptian War. They are arranged in a group with five standing, five seated and two reclining on the ground. Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught and Strathearn (1850-1942) is sitting at the centre of the group holding a sword in his left hand. All are wearing military uniform. There is a building with a veranda behind. The Anglo-Egyptian War of 1882 repressed the nationalist ‘Urabi Revolt and led to increased British control of Egypt.
