Landscape view of Naples, from a mole in the Villa Reale, looking east. The wall and railings of the mole is in the foreground, with a figure of a man in a top hat in the centre, behind the railings. The sea of the Bay of Naples beyond it, is broken by groynes coming out perpendicularly from the seafront on the left. Buildings are interspersed with wooded areas to the left, with the city rising on thenheadland in the middle distance.
