Elevated view across the rooftops of Cincinnati, stretching towards distant hillside on which a church and its bell tower are clearly visible. A street runs diagonally from the centre of the foreground towards a three-aisled building with stained-glass windows on the right-hand side of the image. Large white church visible in middle distance. Shop signs and billboards are displayed above shops and on several buildings. The 18-years-old Prince of Wales (future King Edward VII) visited Cincinnati in September 1860 during a four-month tour throughout Canada and the United States of America. It is likely that he acquired this photograph at the time of his visit to the city.
