It appears that the man is wearing a military uniform; however, it could possibly be a fraternal outfit, although, it seems quite elaborate in its accouterments for a lodge member. On the right, the man is posed with his sword resting on the floor. He wears a plumed hat with a crossed sword and staff on each side of his collar. A crown is visible on each sleeve which leads us to believe he might be from a country with a monarchy. His wife is posed holding his rifle case which appears to read R. Baker, (?), Canton, Ohio. The left image shows the man with his back to the camera and we see a cartridge pouch and canteen, which is also illustrated with a crown.
