Samuel Broadbent had a studio on Chestnut St. Philadelphia. This portrait has "the classical Broadbent painted backdrop and the stamping naming the studio in the mat. The only ID with the daguerreotype read Minister's son. No name and I am not sure if it meant he looked like one or really was one." (Matt Isenberg, December 2006)
