Gabrielle Robinne, a French actress, was born in Montlucon on 1 July 1886 and died on December 18, 1980 in Saint-Cloud. In 1907, she joined the Comedie-Francaise and became a member in 1924. She was also one of the first silent film actresses. Towards the end of 1930, she appeared in several talking films directed by Marcel L'Herbier. She was an officer of the Legion of Honour. On 17 January 1914, Gabrielle Robinne was present at the inauguration of the Theatre Montlucon which was founded in 1912.On 30 September 2006 the theatre was named after her. She appeared in films from 1906 to 1972 including the influential 1908 film L'Assassinat du duc de Guise
