(Jeffrey Kraus? ) This image shows Jeremiah Gurney's Gallery at 707 Broadway, between Washington Place and West 4th St., east of Washington Square. Gurney moved farther north to this third location on Broadway in the fall of 1858 and the gallery remained at this address until 1869 when it relocated once again to 108 Fifth Avenue. This image is illustrated on page 44 of 'Chaining the Sun' by Christian A. Peterson, 1999, although the photographer of the image is unidentified in that volume.
