Photograph of Shere Ali Khan, Emir of Afghanistan with his son Prince Abdullah Jan and suite. Shere Ali Khan is seated at the centre of the group. He is wearing a long coat and a fur hat and has a sword in front of him. His left arm is around the young Prince Abdullah Jan who is standing beside him to the right in ceremonial dress. Two young boys kneel to either side of the Emir, both holding swords. Ten men wearing long robes with turbans or fur hats are gathered around them.
